When we talked about what's in for this winter we mentioned the come back of the lady look but also about some grungy trends but in a clean way.
The Make up we will talk about in this post is a make up that goes with any look you adopt.
It is one big line and from it we can go Simple or dramatic.
A captivating eye make-up with a minimalistic feel to it, Simplicity is your key to one of this season's most fashionable looks. "Eye make-up goes simple this season" said Pat McGrath global creative director for Max Factor. "It's the opposite of excess. Now, it's about doing just one thing - a flick of liner or a smudge of shadow and using one neutral colour to do it." To get this look, it is recommended to use a normal eyeliner with a thin brush.
Winged eyes were all over the autumn/winter 2010 catwalks, and by far this is the strongest look and it is better to call the look.
It is one line seen at MaxMara, at Nathan Jenden at DSquared and at Diane Von Furstenberg, anything goes as long as it's shaped and shaded towards the temples from sophisticated to futuristic to smokey.
According to celebrity make-up artist, Lisa Eldridge, if you're not an expert or are worried about wobbles, the best way to perfect a winged eye is to use a gel liner rather than a liquid. "It gives you more play time because it doesn't dry as quickly and it's easier to use." ( try the gel liners by Bobby Brown and MAC or even the ones from Kryolan). " To create the flick, draw dots where you think it should go and then trace between the dots when you're face on in the mirror. Take a step back and look from eye to eye to make sure they're symmetrical (the gel will give you enough time to do this before it dries) and then when you're happy, do the finishing touches while your eyes are open and you're looking straight ahead - because of the way your skin falls it will look different when your eyes are open and closed."

If you are not into liners or still do not know how to apply them then Pat McGrath -global creative director for Max Factor, so you do not forget who i am talking about- says, "The overall effect is softer and the eye has a new shape too. We are working in new ways using a little line near the lashes, minimal mascara and washes of neutral color to open up the eye." We've also seen a lot of violet and navy for A/W perfect if you want to create a more smoldering smoky eye. Top off with a dash of glitter too. and then, it is a new way to apply your smokey make up making it look lighter, healthier, fresher and definitely younger.
As you see in the above Chloe pic and also in the coming ones, the Honey or actually beige with a shade of caramel is the color of foundation you may -and should- use this winter (and i would even say always). This tone of foundation will help you look fresh and healthy no matter what you skin color is since you can even go for a blush in this color or even a powder (in lose or compact it depends what do you prefer). Gordon Espinet, vice president of make-up artistry for MAC says, "The focus of the moment is on products that affect the look of the skin and the way it plays with light. Highlighting and shading the face in a realistic way is key, all in cashmere effect caramel honey tones. Essentials are a matt bronzer and sepia-toned shadows." A hint to get this fresh skin look, don't mask the natural contours of your face, instead use cream highlighters with a brush or powdery bronzers to lift skin along your cheekbones. In fact this season it's all about letting your natural skin tone shine through with the help of cleverly applied make-up.
To top all that, and to redefine your look you need to work you brows as well. Few were the makeup artist and designers who showed this eyebrows. So one of your key new season investments should be a creamy eyebrow pencil. Val Garland, make-up artist at Fashion Week reported, "It's a big eyebrow look this season. I'm seeing a lot more strength in the brow - it's really about giving a sense of boyish strength to the face."
Just a little advise, All along this post I kept talking about eyes but concerning your lips, make sure to use matt colors to get bold lips like in all the above featured photos . Do not use pastel nail polish this winter, leave pastel to your skin.
