Guys, I finally got one of Kylie Jenner's lip kits and I'm so excited to share it with you!
Cecilio bought me the lip kit in the shade "Leo" for Christmas, since it was in my wishlist and I would talk to him nonstop about them.
It was originally released as a part of her birthday collection (except it was gold packaging instead of black in white). It eventually became a part of the permanent line of lip kits. Each lip kit contains a liquid lipstick (0.11 oz) and a matching lip liner (0.03 oz) for $29, which is a reasonable price for both. You can also purchase an individual liquid lipstick for $17 or an individual lip liner for $14.
Shipping is a bitch, and you have to pay $9 unless if you purchase over $40 worth of items (in the US) or $60 (internationally). Since this was the only item Cecilio ordered on the website, he was not too happy about that. I don't blame him though.
I love the little note from Kylie though! Obviously it wasn't hand written individually by her on a personal letter, as she just wrote it, had it scanned and digitally edited, but I like to think that it was thoughtful of her.
The shade is named "Leo" after Kylie's astrological sign, Leo, for those who are both between July 23–August 22. Kylie's birthday is on August 10. It is a deep burgundy shade, but don't be fooled: it's actually a lot darker swatched and on your lips than it is on the tube or the box. It's a bit disappointing, because the packaging makes me think that it's similar to MAC Diva, one of my favorite MAC lipsticks. The Leo Lip Kit is a lot darker. Regardless, I still love the shade and I've been actually getting a lot of compliments wearing it.

Like with all liquid lipsticks, they are pretty drying. But I promise that it is not as painful as the ColourPop Ultra Matte liquid lipsticks. There is still a level of comfort wearing this, but for me it's still a bit painful right now because of my chronically dry lips that's exacerbated during the winter. I'm very impressed with the longevity though. I wore this when I went out of town with my family to meet with some long-time family friends, and I applied it at 1:30 pm. We ate at around 5 pm, and we had the oiliest fried seafood dishes: fried oysters, popcorn shrimp, crab cakes, fried calamari, etc. and when I went to the bathroom, I did not need to touch up at all!
Freshly applied at 1:38 pm
Even when we had some drinks later in the night, the center of my lip barely started to fade. It does feather eventually around the edges though, so you may want to still touch up anyway, especially if you have dry lips like mine.
Photo taken at 11:23 pm (in my bathroom). You can see the feathering, but 85% of the product is still intact.
The lipliner is where this product shines. I usually prefer buying drugstore lipliners, but I am impressed with the creaminess and pigmentation of the lipliner here. Most lipliners I have are waxier and don't have enough pigmentation, so it gets frustrating when I have to keep drawing and swiping for the perfect amount. You can totally use the lipliner as a lipstick as well. And it fits most standard lip/eye pencil sharpeners.
A part of me is startstruck by the name associated with this product, but I really genuinely do like it. It's vampy and perfect for the winter. I usually reach for pinks, berries and deeper nudes, but this is something different...a bit out of my comfort zone, but I love it.
I definitely want to get more of Kylie's lip kits. Next on my list: Spice, True Brown K, and Ginger. However, my bills and wedding payments are my top priority. But oh my gosh, I've been lusting over Spice since it released in October!
Do you have any of the Kylie lip kits or its dupes? Or any of her other products?
