I've long had a thing for the Samnites taking on the might of Rome. To such an extent that I keep buying them whenever someone releases a range of them or troops that can be used for Italian allies.

For a long time they were based for WAB and I used the Allies for the Hannibal supplement. When WAB died at our club they were rebased for Impetus and I went for 2 forces one Samnites and one Allied to Rome.

I have as many ranges mixed in as I could get at the time, these include A&A, Navigator, Foundry, Redoubt, OldGlory, Aventine, Amazon, 1stCorps, GrippingBeast,NewlineDesigns to name a few.

Shields have been mixed between ranges and round shields changed to scutums on quite a few. Also 2/3 of the Allied units have Pila.

These are used as Command Elements and are 40x40 bases, all the others are on 120mm frontages.

Now I can use them for Impetus or more recently Hail Ceasar.
